Perhaps the ultimate in toileting luxury.

Bidets are regarded as an essential in some countries, yet in other areas seldom seen.  In the UK the bidet gained in popularity during the 1970's and 1980's but there has been a decline in demand more recently, however the benefits of a bidet to hygiene and wellbeing are still worthy of consideration.  Bathroom size has always been an issue with a typical UK bathroom not offering sufficient space to install a bidet, hence the arrival of the bidet toilet or washlet, a toilet with a built-in bidet, making it possible to offer the benefits without the space requirement of a separate fitting.

There was an offering from the industry of a bidet-seat at one point, which replaced the original toilet seat and provided a bidet spray for intimate cleansing.  These did work reasonably well, but as retro-fit accessories never really offered aesthetic delights, and their installation offered challenges as it's not easy to provide the additional water and electrical supply neatly while working around the already fitted toilet bowl and cistern.  Hence the combination bidet toilet offers a better solution and is now an increasingly popular choice for a modern bathroom project.
