Trends incoming for 2024, what's going to be hot in the bathroom?
Water saving showers
Sustainability certainly is a buzz-word just now, but water saving is going to be an important consideration. This has been forefront in the minds of product designers, and showering is an area where water savings can be made. The trick is to reduce water consumption and yet maintain a great showering experience, and thankfully product developments are actually making this possible. Without doubt this trend will be around for some time but it is set to be big in 2024.
Washlets or Bidet toilets
We have had the bidet phase and in hotter climates the douche spray where wet floor systems are installed, but recently the Washlet, (or Bidet Toilet) has been gaining traction. With features like heated seats, automatically opening covers, and wash and dry facilities, the washlet is gaining in popularity and will certainly be topping many wish lists this year.
Spa and Wellness
In the last few years mental health has been much discussed causing many of us to think more about some wind down time and relaxation. Where better to close yourself away from the world than you bathroom? Bathrooms have been regarded much more living spaces rather than simple utilities for a while now, and what could be better than introducing some wellness and mindfullness in the shape of a whirlpool or spa bath, or maybe steam or sauna?
Circles and Curves
We could be seeing a trend away from the hard edged square and rectangular styles back towards softer lines, curves and circles. Expect to see these lines emerging everywhere from ceramics through to accessories and mirrors.
Colours
Expect colours to warm up and begin to move away from the greys of recent times. Pinks, Greens and Blues are on the way with coloured ceramics and gold or brass taps and fittings becoming more easily available. Black and White is likely to remain popular, but the colour is coming back!
